Sutherland Springs Tragedy
November 07, 2017
Our community is devastated by this tragedy. As names of the victims come in, we are saddened that many are members of our system, as well as friends, family members and schoolmates of our staff. SS Water was born and raised in Sutherland Springs; our roots run deep, as do our hearts.
Many may not know that the SS in our name stands for Sutherland Springs and that our original office was located in the heart of town. It is because of this connection that our board, management, and staff feel that we needed to find a way to help the victims. For that reason, SS Water will place an item on the agenda for consideration and approval at their next board meeting, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 13, to forgive debt for the November and December billing cycles to any member that was a victim at the First Baptist Church on Sunday.
“We are a tight-knit community and a member-owned corporation; our board of directors cares deeply for our membership and we are saddened by the events that unfolded on Sunday morning,” said board President John Larrison. “We feel that this is the least that we could do to help the community during this time of healing.”
Family members of victims that were members of SS Water Supply Corp. can contact the office at 830-779-2837 and speak to General Manager Herb Williams or Office Manager Cynthia Raleigh.
“May God bless our community with strength and peace during this very difficult and confusing time. We stand united, we stand for peace, we stand for our community!”
